Can you believe it.....................! Yep, thats my car. We just had one of those weekends, ya know the ones where a three foot graduation cake smacks ya in the back of the head. Well nothing seemed to be going right for us this weekend. We were supposed to be going up to Logan for Todd's graduation from USU, with the rain and some other unexpected expenses we decided against it. So I wanted to do something nice for him down here. I am so proud of him and all that he has accomplished. Well it was time to register our four runner so we tried to do that in the morning, needless to say, it failed safety. So we called a parts place and had them set aside a part for us to fix our car. They said they would so we rushed out there to pick it up only to discover that they couldn't find the part.
The list keeps going on of little mishaps that happened all day. So we start heading to South Jordan to go to Sams club and pick up Todds graduation cake that my sister ordered for us. She didn't realize how extremely large this cake was, and we about crapped our pants when we saw it! (and the price.) Well it had a good picture of Todd as a nerd from halloween on it, so it was worth it. As we get up to pay, the lady won't let us use my sisters card and says its been reported as a lost card. So after battling with customer service and explaining that yes at one time it was lost, they let us pay and get on with our lives. (p.s. I hate wal mart)
So after a really long day where we weren't finding any humor in things anymore. . we headed to my sisters for the BBQ with the giant cake in our back seat. My sister Steph wanted to come a little early with us so she squished in the back with the cake mauling her. We were heading west on 13400 south in Herriman, and before I could even scream I was fighting with the air bag.
It all happened so dang fast, and with all the smoke from the airbags I could barely see Todd or my sister. As the air cleared up we all just stared at each other wondering how the heck that just happened. Somehow we were all fine and we got out of the car to see if the other person was alright. This poor 18 year old guy was the other driver, and fortunately he was fine too. He didn't see us coming and pulled out to turn left, Todd slammed on the brakes and swerved but couldn't possibly dodge him in time. But we are all ok, just a few airbag burns, soar backs and necks and a broken car.

It was right in front of Smiths marketplace in Herriman (its such a crazy intersection). So of course all our family that was coming to the party was driving by and giving us the second glance as we sat on the side of the road. They towed my car away and we loaded up into my brother in laws truck and headed to their house.
Surprisingly, the JUMBO cake was in mint condition for what it had been through. The box it was in was the highest quality purchase I've ever made from sams club. Isn't Todd cute!

This is Todd with his sister Mindy and his dad.

Dustin made a surprise visit to Salt Lake, so of course we had to see the little turkey.

I didn't do a good job at taking pictures, I was pretty shaken up that night. But I am so proud of Todd and all his hard work. His Bachelors is in Exercise Science from Utah State, and he is still on the alternate list here at the U for physical therapy school. So we will see where we end up. As for our car, we are waiting for the insurance company to give us a bid and we picked up a rental today. As of now, they think it will be totaled. We are still planning on driving to California this wednesday afternoon since we've paid for some things that are non-refundable, so hopefully this week goes a lot better than last week.

Take care ya'll and wear your seatbelts!
